Project Runway Jewelry Challenge Week 12 Results

Welcome to the results of the final challenge.  I can't tell you how happy I am with the designs of the SRAJD members in the past twelve weeks as we journeyed together to push our limits of creativity following along with Project Runway.

On November 1st, we will be announcing the winner of the Rings and Things gift certificate.  The prize will go to the person who the SRAJD administrative staff feels best exemplified the spirit of the contest by using the weekly challenges to push themselves out of their comfort zone and into new jewelry making territory.

Week twelve's challenge was to create a butterfly-inspired avant-garde piece of jewelry or to make something inspired by a design from the Project Runway episode (see the clothing designs here).

Here are the entries for the week 12 episode:

Grace Gipson: "For my second entry in Week 12, the Avant Garde design part of the challenge, I made a matching color orange with turquoise necklace and earring set. The butterfly image is shown on the right of the dress (below the Project Runway Logo). My necklace and earrings are shown on the bottom right. This has been a wonderful challenge and I want to thank Laura for hosting the 12 weeks. Applause, applause!"

Grace Gipson: "I made an actual 'butterfly' necklace from beads for last week in the colors of the dress that Dom made this week for her butterfly challenge. The butterfly that inspired me this week was the one drawn by Dom for the challenge which is attached. Then Dom made her butterfly inspiration in the colors of my butterfly last week and Helen made her 'Re Do' challenge second piece in the colors that Dom was going to use. Do I used Dom's butterfly and Helen's design!"

Grace Gipson: "My inspiration is the dress that Dom made. This piece is designed as a necklace but I would wear it as a hair piece to compliment Dom's personal textile. I just loved her design. Little did I know that Week 12 would be inspired by butterflies. I was a week early with my Monarch Butterfly necklace."

Maxine Booth: "I made this to go with Bradon's noodle dress, for the gentle colors with glimmer and hints of glitz amongst the pearls."

Nohline L'Ecuyer: "Inspired by the designs this week and the idea of the butterfly coming from the crysalis, I made this neck piece from glass to represent flowers and wire wrapping. Thanks Laura for a really great challenge! Thoroughly enjoyed myself!"
Nohline L'Ecuyer: "Inspired by the shape and colors of Doms outfit, these "flowers" can draw in the butterfly. The neckwire is made from African beads accented with handmade bass beads to match."
