Our theme for May was “Greek Gods/Goddesses” and while the entries
for each week’s designs were inspired by individual gods and goddesses (see previous
blog posts), the following are the entries for the overall theme of Greek Gods
and Goddesses, not specific to any of the weekly themes.

Joyce Ingram of Pink Tallulah
A golden collar necklace
to empower any Greek god. Rich colours and strong elegant lines. A combination
of materials including organza ribbon, gold plated wire and a selection of
co-ordinating gemstones including Mookite, Tigers Eye, Smokey Quartz and Lemon
Quartz.
Jo Pound of Jewelry by Jolane
The necklace represents a
laurel wreath that the Greek Gods were depicted wearing in photos.
Nohline L'Ecuyer of Nohline L'Ecuyer
Greek God collar. Brass
chainmaille weave of my own design. I made and added a scarab bead.
Tammy Adams of Paisley Lizard
I call these earrings
"Ambrosia" which is food and nectar of the gods. No one really knows
what it was or looked like but some speculate it was honey or mead. I used
honey-colored amber chips and milky white glass beads with gold accents
Kelly Hosford Patterson of PyxeeStyx
"Tethys" - a
hammered copper Greek key cuff bangle. The Greek key, or meander is wrapped
around a raku bead by Earth Butter with similar geometric shapes inscribed in
the ceramic. The meander was the most important symbol in ancient Greece,
representing the eternal flow of things. Deriving it's name from the twisty
turning mythological river Meander. I named it after the Titan Greek goddess
Tethys, who was considered an embodiment of the waters of the World. She was
the daughter of Uranus (sky), and Gaia (earth), and the mother of the river
Meander, as well as other famous rivers like the Nile. Also she was the mother
of the Oceanids, 3000 Greek water nymphs who each preside over a different body
of water.

I am in awe of all of the entries. Each one captures the Greek Gods theme in very different and unique pieces of jewelry. Kudos to all.
All are truly inspired and beautifully designed. Incredible work!
Gorgeous pieces! I am seriously in love with the treatment given to the bead in the metal cuff - what a perfect showcase for a focal, and just so perfect for the theme, too!!
