EARTH April Week 1 Elements Theme SRAJD Jewelry Challenge

Our design challenge theme for April is “ELEMENTS” and the following designs start the month off with the weekly theme of “EARTH”.

Kim Forrer of Kim Forrer Designs
After watching one of the Lord of the Rings movies I was inspired to create this necklace with the beautiful lampwork tulip that I have had for awhile waiting for an inspiration. I call it Springtime in Middle Earth.

Maddy Barkley of Jewelry by Jane 29
I made this piece to appear rustic and earthy!

Tammie Everly of TTE Designs
Assemblage pendant from up-cycyled and repurposed finds. This is one of those pieces that 'made itself'.

Luann Zanke Gilliland of LZG Beaded Designs
This design features Red Creek Jasper, Silver Leaf Jasper, three types of Freshwater Pearls, Greek ceramic spacers, finished with a sterling silver toggle. These colors and textures scream "earth" to me.

Sue Ranbarger of Suzies Little Shop
This is my vision of earth in jewelry as the agates were chipped from the soil and created over the ages.

Deborah Lambson of Deborah J Lambson
Bracelet created with what I like to call 'garden' beads because they're embellished with either a leafy, viney or floral design. Paired with sterling silver and Laguna agate, this one is entitled, 'Undergrowth'

Nohline L'Ecuyer of Nohline L'Ecuyer
"Teetering" - I always wanted to make some 'mobile' earrings and so I have the Earth and the Moon teetering in fine balance or are we slightly off kilter? Lampwork and sterling silver.

Nathalie Lesage of Nathalie Lesage Jewelry
I like to find new ways to hold gemstones in place these days, and so today, for the Earth Challenge, I thought that making copper holding 'hooks' out of sheet metal would be neat :-) I've wire wrapped squarish Pietersite gemstones in place. To me, Pietersite is a great stone to represent the Earth given the gorgeous shades of golden amber, rustic burned reds and hints of greens and blues. The turquoise accent represents the oceans and the sky. The little round copper bead near the top represents the Earth in space.

Jo Pound of Jewelry by Jolane
This bracelet is made up of hex-cut beads, assorted gemstones, Swarovski crystals and a large gemstone (Jasper) in the colors of the earth.

Shelly Owen of Raziela Designs
This is my second attempt at bead embroidery. I just love how the Tiger's Eye really stands out.

Tammy Adams of Paisley Lizard
The Earth element makes me think first of lush green growing things. I made these rustic sunflower beads with matcha (green tea) in polymer clay. Earthy, organic, full of antioxidants.

I went pretty literal on this one, making something reminiscent of my “In the Garden” line.  This bronze planter houses a feather and moss arrangement in miniature.

JeriEllyn Holt Ross of Images By Jer
Peas in a pod...grown from the earth!
